Have you ever heard of the Toronto Maple Leafs? They are one of the original six NHL teams. Last won a Stanley Cup in 1967.

I may follow the team..but I am NOT a fan. Not until ownership shows they care more about the fans than they do about making money (yes yes we all know it's a business, but h**l's bells..even Phoenix is trying to ice a winner..no offense to Coyotes fans, just an example)

It's rumored that my beloved Dolphins may change their team name to the Tampons.

Why, you ask?

1. They don't have a second string, and

2. They're only good for one period.

Let me preface this with the fact that I live in DC, and everybody (almost everybody) I know is a die hard Washington Capital's fan.

So there was this guy who was some distance relation to a friend of mine (some cousin, or cousin's brother). We where talking about hockey, and this guy states that he is a Pittsburgh Penguin's fan. So another friend tries to "friendly" punch him in the arm, but ends up pushing him down the stairs, and causing him to break a wrist.

Ever since then, this guy always says he is a Capital's fan when visiting DC.

So to answer your question, the kind of fan who doesn't admit to what their favorite team is, is one who A) somebody who doesn't want a broken wrist and B) somebody who doesn't want to explain to anyone how they got their a$$ kicked by a set of stairs!
