Do you know anyone that makes you feel spiritually inferior?

Okay, I just walked out to my car to get something, and my roomie and her boyfriend were standing in the driveway talking about the sovereignty of God or something. And it made me feel very unspiritual..

I mean, my fiance and I don't talk about that kind of stuff very often. We aren't big talkers. Our conversation tends to center around the practical.

Now I feel unspiritual :-/

  1. I'd be glad to talk about God with you anytime!  Let's try to work Him into more of our conversations.

  2. Buddhists do, for some reason. I just can't help but feel 'unspiritual' when I hear about meditating or enlightenment. Lol.

  3. No I don't and I know a lot of people who are further ahead in their book/bible knowledge than me but not in life experience. Or death experience. Don't measure yourself against others on any level.  That includes religious or spiritual or what ever you want to call it.

This was something I observed 19 years ago when my son was an infant. Us moms would sit around and measure our child's growth based on what the other infants were doing. It was a not a healthy way to live and one person's development is different from the next. As an infant and as an adult.

  4. Shame on you for letting someone else make you feel inferior. Eleanor Roosevelt said that no one can make you feel inferior but yourself. Don't let someone else make you feel that way.

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent."

    Eleanor Roosevelt

That was her direct quote. Never let anyone bring you down.

  5. Yes . . . yes I do.  A couple people, actually.  And it is kinda a weird feeling.  Not that I think I'm so spiritually advanced or anything, I mean it's a "the more you know the more you realize you don't know" situation anyway, but I'm no dummy when it comes to this stuff.

(Regardless of what all y'all may think, lol.)

I like talking about such, I like being pushed, and feeling inferior is maybe a byproduct of enjoying being pushed that way (maybe).

Don't feel unspiritual.  Let it make you think a bit more, perhaps, especially if it's a feeling that you want to avoid for whatever reason.  Could you be feeling convicted somehow?  (Which is kinda how I feel after such a conversation, actually.)
