  1. ya me i forced myself

  2. my friend's father was a coke addict until he got my friends mom pregnant at 14. They had the child and turned their lives around and they are now the best people I know. They say they owe it to God, They are happily married with five kids.

  3. Yes, definitely. I know someone who was stealing and getting into drugs, and his mom forced him to go to a Rehab center, and now he is completely better. :-)

  4. Yes, I know of several people who have changed their lives around.  The one thing in common among all of them was they had a major life crisis and had to make some type of decision as to how they were going to survive the future.

Forced to change?  No.  Influenced to change?  Yes.  The realization that most people miss is that no one can change you unless you let it happen, unless you want to be persuaded, unless you acquiesce.  It's surprising how many people do not take responsibility for their behavior but will hold someone else responsible for it.  That's rubbish!  We have a free will.  We have a brain.  We have memories and history.  We are influenced by environment but final decisions to change lies within the self.

Those who change are those who want to change based on a belief that things will improve for them or there will be some type of reward or payoff.  Twisted rewards and payoffs, sometimes, but still applicable to why one changes.

To be persuaded means that the individual decided or chose to be persuaded.  To be forced into change means that the individual weighed the pros and cons and decided to change because of a better payoff for self.

How do they do it?  Usually one comes to a place of total unhappiness with self or with circumstances and environment, and desire to approach life from a different perspective.  It's basically about taking on and understanding circumstances and events from a new outlook, a new perspective, a different worldview.  The change is permanent if the payoff is great enough to fully meet the individual's expectations and beyond.

    Weight loss:

~Feel terrible, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, poor self-image, embarrassed in public, low self-esteem, negative self-talk with "shoulds" and "musts" that only serve to jab further into self-loathing.

~Decide to change type of diet and quality of foods taken in, begins to drink more water, begins to be physically active, begins to think healthy, endorphins released in brain create euphoric aspirations not experienced before, spurring on the desire to lose weight and keep feeling good.

~The person was persuaded by self to remain on a healthy diet, exercise, increase water intake simply because the payoff was more pleasurable and desirable.

If ya wanna, ya will.  If ya don't wanna, ya won't.  Period.
