My husband has 2 bad disks in his lower back. It does not hurt him much like it use to. He is not on any pain meds and the rest of him is strong. We bicycle almost daily with no problem. He would be taking it easy on the slopes, no moguls or diamond runs, just easy skiing. What do you think.

  1. I have a bad back.  Hurts like h**l every time hit ground after a jump or when I fall, but unless I fall really, really bad it wont get any worse.  But yeah, a couple of green and blue groomers wont hurt his back at all most likely.  It would be a great idea.

  2. I have two herniated discs in my neck/upper back. I visit the chiropractor usually every three weeks during ski season because the rest of my back loves to go out of whack. I eat a lot of Ibuprofen this time of year. I ski expert slopes, so I can't see why your hubby should have any problems.

    Have Fun!

  3. Get a physical first and verify with the doctor all potential risks. Be certain the doctor is a skier, be cautious about the steeper runs the first few days. As the skill and confidence build, the risks will decrease from falls that may cause an injury.

So I'd say go skiing. Life is too short to wait for the back to be perfect.
