Their web site http://www.teslamotors.com/ says now in production, but I wondered when these are actually being delivered. I know someone who put a deposit on one and was telling all about them, but he told me that there is close to 1 year wait.

Even though they are expensive, it they really get equivalent to over 200 miles per gallon they might actually be worth it for everything except long trips, especially if gas keeps going up in price.

  1. It is basically a Lotus with the lithium ion battery pack and electric motor. The power and range are amazing, I wonder how much electricity it takes to charge it?

It is basically double the cost of the car that Lotus makes and has quicker times to 60 mph. I guess if you have the money, it could be worth it to be green in such a cool way.

  2. Considering the fact that, at most, you'll spend a couple of thousand dollars on gas in a year, a $100,000 sports car is not worth it.

  3. The only Tesla car I know of is pure electric, meaning no gas at all. There are no MPG to measure. This car is also very expensive. I heard the price is something around $90k.

  4. 0-60 in 4.0 seconds and not having to pay for gas for $95,995? Doesn't sound like a bad bet to me.
