  1. bzzflygirl: Chai's owner actually rejected their offer to help pay vet bills because he found that another dog in 2005 DIED from the injuries caused by the ball. Four Paws, the company that makes the ball was made aware in writing about the dog's death and promised in 2005 to make changes.

However, they did NOT, leading to Chai's injuries and the continued production of the ball for countless other dogs.

You can read about it all at Dogster:

  2. This is VERY disappointing. I cannot tell you how disappointed i am. It is so sad how something can happy like that. I will tell all friends and family and make sure they don't have that toy for their dogs. Like previous people said...Toys with one whole in them DO NOT buy for your dog because that is what happens. The company should be responsible and pay for everything that costs them because of that. They are the company who made the toy.

  3. so are tennis balls, one holed balls of any sort, rawhide etc etc

Toys should NOT be left with dogs unsupervised PERIOD.

Yes okay so the company should be partway responsible but where does the owner come into account? I do not leave ANY toys with my dogs while I'm not watching them.

  4. The company has decide to pay some of the vet bills and have recalled the toy. It was a problem with the mold and the second hole didn't go through all the way.

I've seen similar toys of different brands where the second hole didn't go all the way through. You should always make sure all toys with one hole have a second. Even kong toys can create suction if the hole gets plugged up with the filling. Toys with holes in them should be given to a dog under supervision only. Any toy with an opening can become a trap for a dog's foot or jaw.

  5. As a previous poster said, any toy with an opening can be dangerous.  One has to use their brain and put another hole in the toy and it eliminates that pressure.

Ever wonder why that person didn't pierce the ball to remove it from the dog's tongue?

  6. Yeah I read about that, the poor dog!!! That sounds so painful :(

  7. thats horrible, do you know how the dogs doing now?
