Do you know how much compression a golf ball loses sitting in water whether it is 6 inches water in a creek?

or 6 ft deep in a pond ?????if it was there a short time[a day or two ] versus a month inquiring minds want to know so do cheap ball hunting golfers

  1. The golf ball cover is not pourous.  Surilyn is the harder of the two covers used in golf.  Compression from an outside force should be enormous to compromise the integrity of the ball.  Being under water in a pond 6ft or more will not do anything to a ball unless its cover is damaged already.  Used balls are sold cheaper because the idea is that it has been hit already and the integrity of the ball is sub par to that of a new ball.
