  1. To be able to swim fast, you need to have physical strength - LOTS of physical strength.

Swimming as often as possible will build up your strength, and once you feel powerful enough, try and do a length or two at a faster speed than you normally swim!

    Hope I helped!

  2. Push yourself to swim more rapidly than usual. You may want to have a coach guiding you on your strokes too. We sometimes feel that we are swimming perfectly but there are habits that we have formed in swimming over time, that would make us slower. Like your fingers, distance of your arm to your body when you stretch, depth of your stroke, your kicks....

    Hope this helps.

  3. Swimming will become easier for you if you have stamina. Try building up your stamina before you concentrate on speed. It will improve your speed overtime. Always remember to be streamlined and do different things like a few lengths kick, a few lengths just pulling not kicking (with a pull boy if you have one). Over time this will help. Also building up strength can help, do some press ups or sit ups on the side of the pool or at home, try different stretches that help different areas of your body needed for swimming. Set yourself sets like 2 lengths full stroke, 1 length pull, 5 press ups on the side of the pool, get in and then do 1 length kick, 2 lengths full stroke. ( i don't know how good you are, adjust the amount of lengths to your standard.)

Remember your basics as well like, good strong pull, fast, hard kick, fingers together.

Remember; you can't just get faster over night, it will take time, try hard, set yourself reachable targets and enjoy it! Hope this helped.

  4. you know you can't just swim fater but try "sprinting" in your swim for first time and what swim in a regular time helps you increase your "endurance" so you can at least maitain that high speed... but if you are slow try reviewing your techniques and that should helps you..... btw it helped me
