  1. It depends on what type of Camcorder?

You can get adapters for just about any type of camera now a days... if you have no USB/Firewire connection built into the camera you can get something like Dazzle which will allow either Super-S or your regular hook-it-up-to-tv connections and will use a USB port on your computer to take it from being analog to digital.

Newer camcorders have Firewire (IEEE1394) &/or USB. Some older camera's have Super-S and some just use your 3 RCA cables to connect (red/yellow/white).

You will also likely need some type of movie making software. Windows XP has Movie Maker and Mac's has iMovie.  There are good commercial programs also available such as Pinnacle Studio and Adobe Premier.

If you get more details on your camera (age, output) then the answer can be more specific. You might also need to look at what type of computer you have - digital video takes a fair amount of hard drive space and it is memory intensive as well.

Good luck - making digital movies is a great way to preserve memories!
