Do you know how to get rust off?

my bike handlebars are rusty and its really ugly and i really want it off can someone pleasee helpp 10 points if it actually works!

Store your bike indoors ! Bikes have feelings too ! Some light steel wool may do the trick.

Yep, like M R says, SOS pads for a thorough job.

I will add that if the rust is extensive (it's not always visible), your bars may be weakened.  If the rust is bad, you might want to invest in new bars to avoid a nasty fall or injury.

If the rust is flaky or powdery use some wd-40 as lubricant and steel wool (0000 or fine). This will prevent re-rusting and prevent scratches. If you have blooms, beginning of a rust spot, then get some aluminum foil and crumple it up and pour some coke or pepsi on it. Rub the foil on the spot. Thoroughly wipe the area with a clean towel

Easy, SOS pads and water. The bars will be as clean as they can get in a couple minutes.
