  1. Ignoring the misspelling, what do you mean?  There are no "rem-ides" for meditation as implied in your question.  There are countless different disciplines with different approaches to meditation.  But, since you are a Daoist, then you don't have to worry about inner concentration or postures.  Try sitting and forgetting everything.  Very wu-wei.

  2. Pure essential oils are very helpful used for different areas of focus during meditation. Cinnamon and coriander are quite grounding, while citrus type essential oils can open you up to the heavens.

  3. There is no need to use herbal remedies to meditate. But if you are using herbal remedies, you will meditate in the same manner you would if you are not.

Just sit in a comfortable position and relax your body, choose a sacred word that you can use, not as a repetitive mantra but as a gentle reminder to refocus you when you get distracted.

Focus your mind on your heart or your breath. Your mind will wander and you will have distracting thoughts, if this happens you are not failing at meditation, this is just what your mind does. It is ok, just notice the thoughts and gently  use your sacred word to remind you to center your attention back on your heart or your breath. Allow the thoughts to float by you like boats on a river and try not to jump onto any of them, if you find that you have jumped on board a thought, just use your word again to bting you back.

This may seem frustrating at first and you may only have one occasional and brief moment of mental silence, you mey never have one, this is ok, just keep showing up. If you keep practicing then eventually you will find yourself being overcome by a meditative peace during chaotic times when you are not meditating.

While most people recommend that you meditate for at least half an hour each day, I recommend beginning with five minutes of meditation and gradually building up to half an hour or more as desired.

    Good luck.
