Do you know how to retouch a photo in Photoshop with pale-colors in the result?

So, I adore this photographer named http://www.flickr.com/photos/rooze/2422438481/

I love the way how she makes her photos look very very pale and cold.

  1. There are several ways to achieve a result like this. I'll show you one way that I teach in my Photoshop class:

    1. Add a Curves adjustment layer to your photo - click the half-white-half-black icon at the bottom of the Layers palette and choose Curves from the popup.

    2. Drag the bottom left-hand dot on the curve straight up (about two notches) and drag the upper right-hand dot inwards (also about two notches). This will pale out the colours and intensify the contrast.

    3. Add a blank layer and fill this with white. Change the blending mode to Color and drop the Fill intensity to about 31%.
