  1. I'm Costa Rican, and I don't like when certain companies "explotes" tourists. Sometimes they make you to pay $50 just to go and visit a National Park or Volcano when a bus to that destination is around $10 per person, National Park ticket for tourist is $7, food in a humble local  restaurant per person is $8... So take care with the company you "hire". And I have found tickets from the US to CR at $200 round trip from Fort Lauderdale, Dallas or Houston to San Jose!!! all depend the season, the airline and the place you live. I personally recommend you to book the airline, and when you are here, ask for tourist info at the Airport or at www.visitcostarica.com, Costa Rican Tourism Institute Official Website. OR ask local people where are good places to go.

  2. I am not sure about booking seperately, but we just book a trip for early May and for hotel, flight and rental car, we only paid $900 for the whole week, per person.

    Good luck.

  3. OK, well i'll put it this way to you. If you are planning on traveling around during your vacation and not staying at one hotel all the time what you can do is get all exlusive at a hotel for a few nights because between your meals and your drinks that you WOULD pay for w/o being all exlusive usually adds up and passes the amount that all exlusive costs...some hotels charge roughly $49 a day for that, now say you get breakfast that would be approx. $12, lunch approx $15 and dinner approx $20 plus drinks for all 3 meal times that would equal approx $30 a day depending on what you are drinking. thats approx. $62 a day give or take your situations. that thats a $13 increase in price takin over all exlusive price. You would value more by taking all exlusive by far in any situation if you are NOT traveling around the country though. I live here in guanacaste, playas del coco, CR for the past 1 year 6 months and i have many friends in the hotel business and they def. say all exlusive so i hope i have been of some help to you and if you have any other questions dont hesitate to ask.

  4. BOOK SEPARATE!

  5. Even though you can find some seemingly good deals. I have always done everything myself. If you get somewhere and find you don't like it, there would be almost no chance of a refund in my opinion. All-inclusive and time-share are four words that have never appealed to me.What ever you choose to do, have a great time!

All of the above is just my humble, independent, travelers opinion.

  6. You should check out what I did. Its through Ef College Break. They were really good and they take care of all the details for you. All you pay for is lunch and dinner, since the package tour includes round trip airfare and hotels and a tour director. So it was pretty cool that I did not have to worry about anything and just have fun. You should check it out. I think its only for people 18-26 though since it is a student subsidized travel thing. So basically, you do the tourist thing one morning with them, and then you are free to explore and experience. Oh, and if you decide to use them I recently got a promo code for them at this fair. it is HESSELN1188 and it saves you like an extra $100.  You should see if it works for you. I had lots of fun on my trip. (I went to Italy!) You just book online. Um, just google ef college break and you should find it. Its the cheapest way to travel, I've found so far-and I've looked for a long time.
