  1. No, you MUST get a tourist visa from the US embassy. I suggest your friend not to plan this trip unless she virtually has the VISA in her hand because even if she "passes" the screening process, she will have to wait about 8 weeks for it to arrive by mail. Oh, and be smart with the address you're sending it to. The guy will demand a signature or he won't give you the package and getting it a second time will be a hassle if they give it to you at all. It doesn't have to be your home address, but a house where there's a servant or someone there at all times. They can pop up at ANY given hour.

Hrm.. I know several people that got their visas on their first try in the Mexico City embassy, it's more of a thing of luck. You can be well dressed and don't have the look of someone who will just use the visa to enter the country legally and then move there to work as an ilegal, but they could still reject your request for the most dumbass reasons you can imagine (it's a matter of good luck really). I knew a driving teacher who got rejected because the stoopid consul didn't understand what a private driving teacher was.

People with a history of psyquiatric disease could have even more troubles. Oh, you're bipolar? Oh nooess terrorist! Rejected right there.

If you get rejected once, chances are you'll never get the visa so it's best to do it right on your first try.

Dress civilized, understand you'll be waiting like an idiot for at least 4 hours and expect them to demand all sorts of pointless documents like you would never believe. d**n, mexicans must really want to go to Disnleyland so bad if they seriously do this just for a bloody tourist visa.

And yes, the US embassy in Mexico City is the biggest joke ever. The cops there are more mexican than the chile, but since they work for Uncle Sam they act like they were Americans of the really snobbish and stupid kind. They only treated me decently because I am a US citizen and physically don't look like an average mexican.

Oh, prepare yourselves: the cops will demand all your coins. Yes, I am serious. They take away all of your coin money when you get in. Stupider and stupider. I can understand them taking away a cellphone because you could put a bomb in it, but a 10 cent mexican coin? come on!!!

Oh, the interview with the consul is the most important thing in really getting the visa. If your friend already made potential hotel reservations with 3 months in advance and supplies a telephone and stuff like that, the consul will probably approve the visa, but you'll still have to wait several weeks to actually get it. Be polite with the consul because the consul is ultimately the one that not only approves the visa, but approves how many years the visa is worth. If you did your work right, you'll get it for 10 years.

    Good luck!!!

  2. No, Mexican citizens must have a visa to visit the U.S.  There are 27 countries in the whole world that are on the visa waiver list for the U.S....their citizens do not need visas.... citizens of Canada do not need visas either...but people from all 170 other countries do need a visa.  Your friend needs to apply for a visa through the American Embassy in Mexico City or one of rhe American consulates in Mexico.  Visas are most often denied...esp. on the first try.  I live in Mexico and know this by experience.  Friends have told me that the consulates in Guadalajara and Monterrey  are better to go to for the visa app't than the embassy in Mexico City.  Your friend can go to the site below to read all info., print out the forms to fill out ,and get info on how to make an app't for an interview.

  3. I'm sorry for the inconvenience! but unfortunately if she did not obtain a visitors visa she can not travel into the U.S.A and i think she needs to apply for one first, and  if she gets permission granted she will be able to visit the u.s.
