  1. There are lots of princesses still alive - in the UK alone there are:

The Princess Royal, Anne - the Queen's daughter

Princess Beatrice of York and Princess Eugenie of York - The Duke of York's daughters, the Queen's grandaughters

Princess Alexandra - the Queen's first cousin

Technically the Duchess of Cornwall is Princess of Wales, the Countess of Wessex can also be known as The Princess Edward and technically her daughter is a princess although she only uses the courtesy title for the daughter of an Earl.

Any country with a monarchy is likely to have one or two princesses.

  2. There must be hundreds, if not thousands. You have something like 24 monarchies still ruling. Add to this ex-ruling families....lots.

Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie in the UK, Princess Anne as well. Alexandra of Kent, the Duchesses of Kent and Gloucester are also Princesses.

Princess Mary in Denmark and her daughter, Isabella. The new Princess Marie. The Queen's sister, Princess Benedikte.

Princesses Victoria and Madeleine in Sweden. And their Aunts, Christina and Desiree + one more I think

Princesses Ragnehild and Astrid in Norway. Crown Princess Mette Marit and her daughter Princess Ingrid.

In Holland you have the Queen's 3 sisters, Margriet, Irene and Christina (and Irene has at least 1 daughter, Margarita who is a Princess.)

Crown Princess Maxima and her three daughters.

This could take forever...still Belgium, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Spain, Monaco, France, Italy to go in Europe alone.

    There are plenty left!

  3. There are too many to list here. Do your own research by visiting http://www.theroyalforums.com

This site is all about all of the monarchies in the world. They even have pictures...

  4. In addition to Princess Anne (who is Princess Royal, sister of the queen) there are four more in the UK royalty.

    (1) Princess Beatrice of York (queen's granddaughter by son)

    (2) Princess Eugenie of York (queen's granddaughter by son)

    (3) Princess Alexandra (queen's first cousin: age 71) she is a princess since she is a king's granddaughter by a son. If she was a king's granddaughter by a daughter she would NOT be a princess. There is no one alive who falls in the latter category.

    =====================

    (4) Princess Michael of Kent (age 63) who is the wife of Prince Michael of Kent is the only UK princess by marriage.

Her media nickname is "Princess Pushy".

Michael is a first cousin to the queen. He descended through the male line, but he did not become a duke. His older brother is the Duke of Kent.

Princess Michael first name is Marie-Christine Traditionally, all wives of male members of the British Royal Family, the aristocracy and members of the public take the style and title of their husbands. Diana, Princess of Wales was not "Princess Diana" as the media called her, because she was not born a British princess. Her correct title was The Princess of Wales and when she divorced she became Diana, Princess of Wales.

It just so happens that Prince Michael is the only grandson of a king titled HRH who is a second son and so there are no other princesses with the name of their husbands.

The other princesses in the British royal family were all born into the royal house.

Interestingly enough Prince and Princess Michael are not in the line of succession since she is Catholic and did not renounce her church when she married Michael. Their children are still eligible since they were raised Protestant.

    ===================================

There is a fifth woman who is still living who was a princess for two years, from 8 June 1972 to 10 June 1974. Birgitte van Deurs married Prince  Richard (another cousin to the queen) in 1972. Two years later his father died and he succeeded to the title Duke of Gloucester. His wife was no longer styled a princess, but instead she is a Duchess.

  5. There are many princesses still living. There is a list in book The Daring book for girls

  6. Princess Anne   the queens daughter  for one she is Princess Royal

Prince Andrew's daughters are princesses  grandaughters of the Queen

Princess Alexandra cousin of the Queen

then if a country has a monarchy and the king or queen has daughters they will have princesses

or a principality and the daughters will also be princesses

unless it has been decided that they will not be given a title like    princess Anne's daughter Zara  she is just miss Zara Phillips .......................and her son Peter Phillips

some marry into royal families and become princesses that way

ps   the Queen sister was Princess Margret .........

  7. Princess Mette-Marit of Norway

    Princess Maxima of the Netherlands

Princess Victoria of Sweden who is crown princess of Sweden and will be Queen of Sweden one day

her younger sister Madeleine of Sweden

    Princess Letizia of Spain..

    Princess Elena of Spain...

    Pricess Christina of Spain

Princess Caroline of Monaco and Princess of Hanover(Germany as she is also wife of Prince Ernst August of Hanover in Germany)

Princess Stephanie of Monaco..  (princess Caroline's younger sister...

Even Germany which has no Monarchy have plenty of titled people .. Princes and Princesses all over Germany.... thats' just their title.. it means not much...but in the countries i mentioned they are Princesses because they have a Monarchy..

    Princess Mary of Denmark

and of course the English ones but they were mentioned already.. but there are more English princesses or Dutchesses... but those mentioned are the most important ones...x*x
