  1. yes

  2. cause you can england has a vast net work of canals and navigatable water ways developed to transport produce around the country before railways were developed. go explore!

  3. You don't say what category of boat - can you take her on inland waterways?  I've taken a narrow boat from Manchester to Lichfield, and our neighbouring moorers have taken their narrow boat from Lichfield to St. Ives, Cambs, via Salters Lode so there is obviously a navigable route.

  4. You most certainly can get from Mancs to Lincs by boat. But if you want to do it on the inland waterways, it has to be capable of squeezing through all the locks (7 foot beam, max - ie: less a bit for good measure) and under all the bridges (about the same!)

Unless it is a sea-going vessel which can go around the coast.

I feel that you are talking about a narrowboat - on "the system". In which case the answer is definitely yes.

    Nice trip, too.

    Best of luck.

  5. yes, a flying boat

  6. Yes, but as the tide in the irish chanell is rough you would have to go north around the head of Scotland and drop down the east coast, will not be a pleasent journey this time of year though.
