Let just say one thing I know for sure about Vietnamese people is that : We're all very patriotic. No matter where we live in this world, we'll never forget where we came from. Of course, there are so much, much more.

Went there last year. The coolest country and the coolest people I have ever experienced. Hanoi, especially the old quarter, will blow you away.

It's cheap too, so you won't need bundles of cash, and you won't get mugged either.

If you are having doubts about going, DON'T. Just go! You will NOT regret it. Make sure you have at least 2 weeks. And make sure you get to Sapa before it is overrun with tourists and Halong Bay.
