Do you know of a good wedding venue that suits a bride who loves the great outdoors?

My cousin loves canoeing, camping etc. She is getting married next summer and wants to get married in a venue that reflects her interests. She found a great place up north near parry sound but they wouldn't do weddings in the summer. Unfortunately, she needs to get married in either july or august as she is a teacher. Anyone have a suggestion?

  1. Give this place a try, it looks amazing!=) It's in Algonquin Park (which is about 3 hrs from Toronto) but it would definitely be worth it. Some options are an evening bonfire (something I've always wanted at MY reception) and the bride could also be paddled in via canoe LOL It looks beautiful and has everything you need for a great outdoors-y wedding. Hope this helps!

PS - here's a second site with other options

  2. Pinestone resort in Haliburton.   http://www.canada-hotels-hootl.com/delta...

  3. How about renting a cottage?  There are plenty of people who rent their cottages out and you can't buy that kind of ambience anywhere. And I'm not talking about a log cabin with no running water.  My ex in-laws had a place in the Georgian Bay area and we used to take the boat and tour the area...some of those places are unbelievable with scads of property and great places to hold a wedding.

Our neighbours had their daughter's wedding last summer at their cottage and it was just beautiful.  Vows were exchanged on the dock at sunset and they had a tent set up for the reception.

Have a look at Tylers Directory and contact some of these folks now.  That way you'll be able to look at the property now and see if it'll work for you.

Good luck and congratulations to your cousin.

  4. try jungle wedding themed

  5. There are three resorts in Algonquin Park that would be great for her:

    Arowhon Pines

    Bartlett Lodge

    Killarney Lodge

You can check out all three at this website:

I used to work in Algonquin Park and any one of these would be great.
