I have a vintage Singer Sewing Machine in a table cabinet, and I was thinking about selling it or researching its value. Does anyone know where I can find information about this item?

  1. Assuming it is a Singer as you say, they produced too many of them to be of any real value now as they won't be rare. You are best to try and sell it privately as most people nowadays don't like the big cabinets they come in and prefer the modern desktops. Without having seen it or knowing the model number, I'd guess at £50-£75 would be your best bet. If you did want to email me the model number and a pic, I could give you a more details..Good luck x

  2. Most of the old black Singers in sewing condition are worth $10-50 -- a little more in excellent condition, less with pinrash and silvered decals.  The exception is the 201/221 featherweight, which has become a cult phenomenon among quilters.  And treadle machines fetch more.

Some of the other old Singers like the 301, 401, 404 also fetch a bit more.

Searching completed auctions on ebay with the model number will most probably give you a better idea.
