US has conflicts with rising powers, it's no difference with US and Japan's conflicts between 60's to 80's, from economy to politics, the only difference is US takes over Japan and China is completely out of Americans control.

The biggest conflict between China and the United States is essentially the political system they are using. U.S. is democratic and China is communist, but that's not enough to define the conflicts, just criticisms from both sides.

I think in the late 19th century or early 20th century there is this "Eight-Nation Alliance" who invaded China, USA is one of them.

China supported both the Viet Cong and North Korea, however, there hasnt been a war which the US and China were directly opposed.

There has always been a longstanding conflict between China and the US, but they've never gone to war directly over it. In fact, these 2 countries mostly just mind their own business. The idealogical conflict has always been there though. Communist China, Democratic USA.
