Last night I saw a mouse in my home and need a mouse trap that will kill the mouse but will be safe to use around a miniature dachsund. She will eat and get into anything so no poisons. I need to know the brand, price and have a basic idea on what it is. Thanks for all your help!

  1. I use something called a Mice Cube.  I got it at Wal Mart for $1.49 (price may vary).  You put something in it to lure it in, I use a small piece of a pop-tart, then put it it where you see mice.  It will go for the bait, then get trapped inside.  Then, you go far far away and release it.  I got it yesterday and already caught 2 mice with it.

  2. If you don't mind humane traps, I can suggest what I use:  $5 reusable traps made by TomCat.  The mouse is lured inside by some food you place there (peanut butter) and the weight of the mouse flips the trap shut.  My dogs leave the traps alone.

I release the mice out in the country.

These can be used over and over again.

  3. There are some that are basically just glue on a piece of paper.  You'll want to make sure your dog doesn't step on it or try to eat it but it is one method that does not use any poisons so it is safe around dogs.  I use them in cabinets and corners where my dog can't get into them.

  4. A cat
