Im thinking of raising some money from my school to help a charity somewhere, but I dont know which one. I want to give to an orginization that takes the trouble to go to the place and help the people themselves and make sure that it is the people, not the government who is getting the money. Any ideas?? Can you also please provide the link to their website, if possible?? Thank you!

  1. CARE International. They are doing amazing work. And their goal is to help women and girls to be able to take care of themselves, through training and education.

  2. The one that I currently work for is called Living Waters International.  They are stationed all over the world but most of their work is done in central america.  I am in El salvador.  They look for people to raise money and the same people also can come to the site, to drill wells in communities that do not have accesable water.  The mission trip is a week long and optional.  I believe that each well drilling costs about 500 dollars.  They normally put the wells on church properties as a way to bring people to close to church.  Afterwards they set up bible studies with the women in the communities and teach the children songs such as Jesus cleans your heart the way that water cleans your hands.  It is a hands on christian organization.  Just google it if your interested.  Pray about it and good luck. :)

  3. You could see if you have a local Kiwanis Club. We are a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Most clubs have many hands-on projects that allow you to invest a little sweat equity.
