im interested in raising good and/or money for people in need. is there any online organizations that you know of?

BTF works directly with the poor people living in the squatter camps in South Africa.  

There are 1000s of nonprofit organizations needing money out there but I have see first hand how the money is used and what a difference it makes in the lives of the people.

Hi. I started a charity last year for children. My program gives a backpack to children that are being placed into foster care. As they are removed from their home the social worker gives them one of my packs. I am located in Michigan. In my packs I give them a blanket, stuffed animal, book, night light, toothbrush, toothpaste and shampoo/soap. Most of these children are removed from abusive homes and they are removed by strangers and then taken to live with strangers. They don't get to take any belongings with them. It broke my heart and I knew I had to do something. My hope is that my packs can give them a small feeling of comfort and security at a time that they are feeling none. This way they also don't have to feel uncomfortable asking their new foster parents for items, they already have their own to start off with. Please check out my website www.sleeptightfoundation.org. Your church. Donations to the Salvation Army and to any organization that you check out for good places to give. Just about anywhere you can donate.  Once you do, expect many others to give you the chance to donate to their cause.
