Check this page out from the employment office.  

I just took a chance on them having volunteer jobs and they did.

Try the local hospital lobby.  They should have applications laying out for volunteers who want to join up.  There are plenty of other places that you can also volunteer at like the Red Cross, YMCA, Salvation Army, etc.  Nice Question! ;)
