  1. Ugh....Effexor withdrawals are terrible! I completely sympathize with you on that matter. My old psychiatrist lied and said that it didn't have any kind of dependancy or withdrawal effects, and then told me that I must be having psychosomatic symptoms when I started having horrible withdrawals (I had to come off a mid-size dose cold turkey due to the onset of some really bad side effects).

I don't know of anything that will deal with the withdrawal overall, however for me the worst part was the severe anxiety and panic attacks that came along with it. The physical stuff (sweats, cramps, etc) were also uncomfortable to say the least, but the mental stuff was what really made it difficult for me.

For those symptoms you may wish to try Rescue Remedy. It has replaced xanax in my purse, and is completely natural with no side effects and you can use it as often as you want.

Also, getting a protein supplement powder (it needs to say "protein isolate") can have the same effects as xanax or ativan. It takes about 20 minutes to set in and then lasts a couple of hours. You can also give that a shot - I find that works very well for me. Try to find a supplement that doesn't have alot of extra calories, though, just to make sure you don't end up putting on any unnecessary weight. That can help you sleep, or just calm down off any uncomfortable emotion-rushes.

If you have an acupucture college near you, see if they have a student clinic. You can usually get treatments for REALLY cheap at them. That will also really help your body re-normalize in a more expedient manner. Of course if you have the cash, you can just see any acupuncturinst in your area!

    Best of luck to you.
