Do you know of any quotes that describe a person who is addicted to a belief that makes no sense at all?

I have seen many times in life when a person is at a certains stage in life & they believe things that don't make any sense that aren't good for them. I would like some quotes that could help me shed light on this or even help me understand if they are right & it is necessary for them to believe what they believe. This could be applied to a teenager whose parents true to talk sense to them but they insist on going out with friends who are going down the dangerous path or someone who is addicted to anything but defends their position. I remember as a teenager my father took a loan to gamble & told me it was a good investment. I just don't know what to think or say to people who do things in life that are against themselves & defend what they are doing. Or my real question should be : Are there any quotes that can wake a person up to see how foolish they being or how they are hurting others with their behavior. Any info. is welcome.

  1. One of the most profoundly nonsense quotes I heard (today) is:

I have found if I answer a question straight out the dems don't answer &

    the cons. use it troll.

    Who is the troll?

  2. Denial buddy, it's a form of resistance of not wanting to change anything.... page 60 of Louise Hayes book "You can Heal your Life".. People will say things like "There is nothing wrong with me"... I can't do anything about this problem".. "I was all right last time".. "What good would it do to change"?? "If i ignore it, maybe the problem will go away".. problem is mate, you can't help to heal somebody who hasn't asked for your help.. it needs to be their idea that they need to heal .. they need to come to you and ask for your help first.. it breaks my heart when i know i can help people and i have to zip my lip & not say anything till they ask.. or incur their wrath...pretty much, you can't enlighten somebody who hasn't asked the question... darn it... wish we could.

There is nothing to fear except fear itself.

sorry sweet pea, that wasn't entirelyusefull  but i just wanted to help a little.. hope i did.

    peace baby

  3. I'm not sure about applicability, but one definition of insanity is to repeat the same behavior over and over and expect a different outcome
