  1. I've been only to one of these sights, St Thomas on a cruise and went to Trunk bay for a snorkling excursion. It probably was the best snorkling I have ever done and Trunk Bay was named one of the top ten beaches in the world.

  2. Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then "Ports of Call" to find your ports.

Have only been to St. Thomas of the ones you mentioned.  Both times we did things on our own and had no problems.  You MUST be sure an get back to the ship on time, however.  If you are on a ship's tour, they will wait for you, but if you're on your own, they will not wait if you are late and you are then on your own to catch up with the ship!

  4. I Have been to all of those islands and to St Thomas and Antigua multiple times.  On Tortola we looked at what was available to do and decided to just walk into town from the pier.  We did not find much of interest there, perhaps because we tired of walking, and so went back to the ship.

I have been to St Thomas on cruises about 6 or 7 times and I always found that the best tings to do were go to a beach and/or go shopping.  Like most Caribbean islands there are not great sights to see other than forts and plantations, or former pirate hangouts.  In St Thomas you'll hear about BlueBread's Castle, which I think now is a hotel and restaurant.  So in St Thomas forget about sightseeing and just go to the beach.  The one that most people will go to is Megans' Bay.  But our last trip there we went to a different one, Sapphire Beach, which was nicer.  The taxi ride to Sapphire Beach was $10 per person each way.  Megans' Bay is a little less, maybe $5 to $7 a person each way.  You can get taxis and tours to almost anywhere in St Thomas right at the pier.  Even if you do not sign up for a tour, just go through the terminal and ask who is going where you want to go.  There will be a hundred taxis and mini-vans available; just be sure to make arrangements for a ride back o the pier.   Below is a guise to St Thomas.

In Antigua I did a tour of the island my first trip there by just walking from the pier into town and tour and taxi drivers will be available on the street.  We had a tour of the whole island for half the price of a ship's tour.  The guide took us so many places that we had to tell him that's enough we're ready to go back.  The main things to see there are just scenery, English Harbour,  and the Yacht Club with the high priced yachts sitting around.
