Do you know of any testing to see if there are any enzymes that will eat plastic?

I've heard that there is an enzyme being used to help clean up oils spills...are there any that might work for plastic? ***I don't know too much other than the simple basics where science is concerned but I keep hearing how long it takes plastic to degrade & wondered if using something like whatever they may being using to clean up oil would help...anybody know?***

There are forms of nylon, styrafoam,  and plastic eating bacterias. I have posted online references for this.
