I know they use them on women who had an episiotomy and I am trying to get some of those pads to take to the hospital with me. If you know the name, I will be really grateful for the info.

  1. I have one right here and it says Kimberly-Clark instant cold pack disposable squeeze bag

  2. take a regular maxi pad and soak it in water and then freeze it.  That is what they do at my hospital.

You shouldn't need to take them to the hospital with you.  They will have them there, but for at home after you have the baby the most cost effective way to do it is what I mentioned above.

  3. Ours were called ice maxi. You twist them, and then shake them to get it cold. I LOVED those things! I tore while pushing out my first son, and at first I told them I would never wear those ice maxi pads. Ummmm yeah they were the best.

  4. They used surgical gloves and stuffed them with ice and wrapped a paper towel around it. Worked fine, maybe it was just this?
