  1. Generally, the best treatment is weight loss, moderate exercise, and a sensible diet.

  2. Yes it's usually diet controlled. It can include insulin injections, but not usually.

They control it by their food and drink, basically they rarely consume sugar. There are different types of sugars though. Speak to either a doctor or dietician. Oh and by the way you won't find anyone who used to have diabetes, there is no 'cure' it's just controlled.

    Good Luck

  3. You should re post this question to the diabetes section, you will get tonnes of great answers.

But to answer u i know a few people with type 1 and they use insulin injections.

  4. I have Type 2 diabetes.

I am controlled by diet and exercise. (for 15 years)

the treatment depends on the patient.

most are type 2 because of their weight

while their are some of us that have it because a parent had type 1

while type 1 have to go on insulin rate away

because their pancreas is dead and does not work any more

Type 2 their pancreas is still working it is just lazy

it allows their sugar levels to go too high before dumping insulin

also they may just be insulin resistant and their pancreas is fine

so for most exercise and diet will work

and for others they need pills either to help with the insulin resistance or to help their body to make more insulin

others may end up on insulin injections because they can not take the pills

    all have pro's and con's

a life style change may be needed

eating the right foods will help immensely
