  1. A navigator in plane deals with the avionic systems usually such as acquiring targets.


  2. On a sub, the navigator is a LT or Ltcdr, in charge of a department of men. QMs, RMs, and ETs.

    He plots the course of the boat, and verifies the accuracy of our position.

    Navigators usually hold a B.S. in physics, or better.
