Just a tiny speck we each are.

The passage of eternity can be measured(so I once heard) by the brushing of the tip of a birds wing against a metal(silver?) gong or something similar.  With every stroke of the bird's wing tip, 1000 years passes, but it was a long time ago and I can't remember the exact details.  Time will finish when the silver gong is worn away down to nothing.(Think i read too many books)
