not be refunded this amount in the event that the Postal Service loses it because sending it only by "First Class" with no Insurance - is not a "Guaranteed Service"?

- And that this is a "Federal Regulation"!

Just how immoral is this?

  1. Yes , I have the misfortune of knowing this is true . You would think that with on-going rate increases we as citizen-consumers would be receiving a better postal service rather than institutionalized mediocrity .

Morality is not an issue with the USPS.

  2. Without tracking or a signature, how can you prove it either way?

It would mean that anyone willing to fill out a form could make money defrauding the postal service.

I might want a muffin and a cup of coffee, but have no money.  I could go to the post office, give them a receipt from a package that I had mailed weeks ago, and get my money back.  USPS would have no way to know as they do not track regular first class mail.

In short, that'd be a big can of worms.
