It would return the decision back to the states where it belongs.

  1. That' true, but why should a woman in Oregon be given a choice when a woman in Delaware isn't? It's not logical to put this on as a state issue, because it would change so much. And anyway, a Supreme Court decision is sometimes amended, but I can't think of any that have been overturned.

  2. because it shouldn't be a state to state law...it should just be legal...period! if u make it the states decision, you'll go back to having 16 yr old girls giving themselves abortions because it's illegal in their state and that would be even worse

  3. government is control that is why.

  4. Then you would have to have the minors crossing state lines to get abortions. That would cause many crimes and possibly kidnapping charges. Also those that could not leave the state, might have to return to the good old clothes hangers. That is what Sadams mom tired to do with him. With clothes hangers many young women dies by bleeding to death. So you can see many of the problems that could come with that.

  5. it was a privacy issue.......not on abortion itself.

  6. if it is legal in one state it is legal everywhere. if you live in Alabama and it is not legal there but it is legal in Georgia you just cross the border and have your abortion

and you are own the wronf page you are looking foe laws not elections

  7. At best it means more kids in foster care you Repubs don't have to give a c**p about.

  8. Have you seen where Mississippi ranks in education?

  9. Because the majority of the states will BAN Abortion.. Of course the crazy states like NY and CA will not BAN it but the majority of them will ban it...... After all a woman should have the right to kill her baby if she wants to right?

  10. Because it shouldn't be a government decision to begin with that's why I'm UPSET not THREATENED.

You all seem to get those terms confused on here.

  11. Because it's the right of the individual.

  12. because of states like TEXAS, ARIZONA, FLORIDA.

  13. @Free your mind: No, "AT BEST", people would be more careful, maybe even use a condom if they knew they didn't have a 'just kill it' safety net

  14. Supporters of Roe v. Wade are concerned about women in Kansas and other red states who get pregnant and want an abortion, but when Roe v. Wade is overturned, they may not have the means to leave Kansas and get one.  Then we go back to deaths caused by back alley abortions and self-abortion attempts.  That is a price that we all need to think about.  You are correct that overturning Roe v. Wade will not end legal abortions nationwide, but fundamentalists should not kid themselves that the "death" they associate with abortion will stop when abortion is outlawed.  The death just shifts elsewhere.

  15. Criminalizing abortion is based on the premise that a fetus is a human being.  In that light, the 'state's rights' argument will never hold embryonic fluid.

Likewise, the people who want to criminalize abortion don't care about states' rights, or medical marijuana, assisted suicide, and same-s*x marriage wouldn't be challenged by people who don't live in the states where they're recognized.

  16. Because people in states that say NO to abortion aka the SOUTH will be flocking to the north to get abortions.

  17. Bull c**p.  States would hold in their hands the life and death of a womne just like before.

  18. Yes it would.  States might choose to create their own laws regarding it but that's not the same thing.

    Obama/Biden 08

  19. Most people don't know this.  They think it would make abortion ILLEGAL on a federal level.  Liberals like using it as the scare tactic against conversatives.

  20. There's no state right to trample a constitutional right.

  21. Shouldnt be a states choice.

It should be a womans choice, end of disscussion. I dont think government or state has a right to tell me what I can and can not do with my body. thats why I am threatened by it.

  22. It's not that simple.  So why are you sweeping all liberals with the same brush.

  23. It's about privacy rights. States don't have the power to overturn this, and that is why it need stay intact.

I believe that State's should have a little more power than they currently have. But not on this subject matter.

  24. h**l yah. succeed TEXAS

  25. Really? Not true!

"South Dakota’s 2006 assault on Roe v. Wade marked a new twist after 33 years in which most states have concentrated on whittling away at the edges of the landmark ruling.

Since 1973, all states except Vermont have passed one or more abortion laws, and states continue to enact new abortion statutes every year. The barrage of laws has triggered repeated court challenges that have refined what states can and can’t do in trying to strike a balance between a woman’s constitutional right to end a pregnancy and religious and moral beliefs that abortion is wrong because it destroys fetal life.

Unable to ban abortion, states have pioneered dozens of tactics to constrict access to it -- from requiring minors to seek a parent’s consent for an abortion to regulating the size of doorways in clinics that perform the procedure.

In contrast, 13 states help ensure a woman’s access to abortion by prohibiting most forms of protest at abortion clinics."

Pro-choice is a constitutional privacy issue!

This is the way you people normally operate!

  26. You are correct.

  27. Liberals believe in big government and are against states rights.

  28. True.  But it does not belong in the hands of the states; the matter is an issue of fundamental rights, which no state may legitimately infringe.

  29. But some states would ban abortion.

I think the timeline should be adjusted.

I think before 10 or 12 months, abortions should be strictly between woman and doctor.

Then other regulations come after that.
