Yes it is sad.  That is why it is not a good idea to live on or near a fault boundary.

Actually, as of June 7, 69,134 people were confirmed dead. So not really millions of people.

374,061 are listed as injured and many millions were left homeless.

Its sad, but that's what happens when people do not realize the consequences of overpopulation.
