Do you know the name of the guy who slides and drops the ball in the end zone in that famous Cowboys' loss?

No, I mean a long time ago. This was back during the 1980s. The guy slides and drops the ball in the end zone, and the commentator says something along the lines of "he must be the loneliest guy in the world." I think it was a tight end in a playoff game. The quarterback might have been Danny White, but I really don't know for sure. It's one of the most (in)famous plays ever.

Leon Lett tried to grab a ball that fumbled from a Field Goal attempt no one was going to touch it until it fully stopped but than comes Leon who slides through the snow and bam slaps it and it goes into the end zone which gave the other team another chance

It is Hall of Fame tight end Jackie Smith in Super Bowl XIII.  The Cowboys trailed the Steelers 21-14 in the third quarter.  On third down, Roger Staubach saw Smith wide open in the end zone.  He hit him right in the chest and the ball bounced away.  That was when the announcer said the "Lonliest man in the world" line.  The Cowboys kicked a field goal to make it 21-17.  However, the Steelers would score the next two touchdowns to make it 35-17.  The Cowboys rallied with two late 4th quarter TDs.  But after making it 35-31 with less than a minute remaining, Rocky Blier recovered their last ditch onside kick.

So the drop didn't necessarily cost the Cowboys the game, but it would have tied it up and kept the momentum in their favor.

Leon lett ran for a TD and celebrated to early ...oops along comes a fast white dude named don beebe and knocked it out of his hands before he got to the endzone...oh man...I am suprised beebe is still alive
