  1. First, you check in their luggage. Make sure they have checked themselves in on the personal check-in kiosk, or you can help them do it. Make sure they have two forms of ID. Make sure they have marked their baggage with contact info. It is usually 2 pieces of baggage not exceeding 50 pounds that they will check in, as it is free. Anything else usually costs a small fee.

Then, in a different line, you check their carry on items and their person by scanning the bags and having them walk into a metal detection scanner. Passengers are allowed one carry-on item and an additional bag can be taken, such as a purse or diaper bag. All liquids, gels, and the like cannot be taken unless put into a small Ziploc bag and presented for the checker to see. Shoes, belts, jackets, jewlery, etc. must be removed before entering the scanner. Laptops must be taken out of the laptop case before going through the scanner as well.

Then, once they clear, they go to the specified terminal. You take their ticket and run it through the scanner to clear them for boarding.

As they are boarding the plane, if they have any oversized luggage that cannot fit in the overhead compartment or can be stowed completely underneath the seat in front of them, it can be taken to the cargo hold with the other luggage. You take the bag and give them a ticket that matches the bag. They can pick it up when they get to their destination.

    All set!
