YUP. YUP. You missed that little detail. BABE!

  2. Sarah Palin was mayor of Wasilla.

As of the 2000 census, its population was 5,470. The 2005 estimate gives it a population of 8,471, although the city website lists the population as 6,715.

Sarah Palin is governor of Alaska.

Population of Alaska: 683,478 (2007 est.)

In 2008, USA has an estimated population of 300 million people.

    Look at those numbers!

    Are you kidding us?

    “Executive Experience”

Before her meteoric rise to political success as governor, just two short years ago Sarah Palin was the mayor of Wasilla.  I had a good chuckle at MSN.com’s claim that she had been the mayor of “Wasilla City”.  It is not a city.  Just Wasilla.  Wasilla is the heart of the Alaska “Bible belt” and Sarah was raised amongst the tribe that believes creationism should be taught in our public schools, homosexuality is a sin, and life begins at conception.  She’s a gun-toting, hang ‘em high conservative.  Remember…this is where her approval ratings come from.  There is no doubt that McCain again is making a strategic choice to appeal to a particular demographic - fundamentalist right-wing gun-owning Christians.  And Republican bloggers are already gushing about how she has ‘more executive experience’ than Obama does!  Above is a picture of lovely downtown Wasilla, for those of you unfamiliar with the area.  Behind the Mug-Shot Saloon (the first bar I visited when I moved to Alaska long ago) is a little strip mall.  There are street signs in Wasilla with bullet holes in them.  Wasilla has a population of about 5500 people, and 1979 occupied housing units.  This is where your potential Vice President was two short years ago.  Can you imagine her negotiating a nuclear non-proliferation treaty?  Discussing foreign policy?  Understanding non-Alaskan issues?  Frankly, I don’t even know if she’s ever been out of the country.  She may ‘get’ Alaska, but there are only a half a million people here.  Don’t get me wrong….I love Alaska with all my heart.  I’m just saying.

I, and all Alaskans will be interested to see how this whole process unfolds.  This is definitely a gamble for McCain, and in my humble opinion, a gift to Obama and to Joe Biden who just got thrown a big hunk of red meat for the vice presidential debate.

  4. Yes I did at least as of yesterday.  I'll  be honest didn't know her from adam before that.  But so far, I'm like her.

  5. You forget that as a Illinois State Representative and as a U.S. Senator Obama authored a lot of bills that were passed into law. Palin's resume is somewhat impressive, but you can't really put her experience as city council and mayor as being good experience for VP. It's like listing that you graduated from elementary school on a job application.

  6. So?

What does that have to do with the reality that Palin has no national experience whatsoever?

I know it's hard for you McCain supporters to grasp this truth, but Biden has more experience than Palin and McCain combined.

The sad fact is, McCain could've chosen anyone else he wanted and this race wouldn't have been such a blowout now as it will be come November 4th.

But he decided that he would try and use a WOMAN to pander to Hillary's disaffected voters and placate the pro-life/social conservative base.

But where does he stand on the matters concerning Americans the most when all he does is ignore them in favor of wedge issues?

  7. You seriously think being a city counselwoman and mayor of a tiny town in Alaska qualifies someone to be leader of the free world? Well then, why don't we just elect some random PTA mom?

As far as her high approval rating goes, she has only been in office for two years, and Alaska is a very homogenous, right-wing state. Any gun-toting weirdo gets high marks there.

Any argument that this woman is qualified to be VP is just lame. You cannot possibly say anything positive about her that doesn't sound pathetic.

  8. You should do Biden next.

  9. WOW, thats much more than obama hussain
