Do you know this mystery bug?

i have this plant. there are tiny bugs about the size of the period on the keyboard, possibly smaller. i want to buy a spray to kill them but don't know what they are. they are white and they seem to be eating the leafs that's really all i can tell. if u know what they might be please tell me. i dont want to buy the spray for nothing.

  3. Identification is definitely important before attempting any control measures.

    At that size, I suspect that they could possibly be spider mites.  Most of the common pesticides used for houseplants and gardens are completely ineffective against spider mites.  In many cases, they can actually increase the numbers of the pests because the spray kills off all the insect predators that were feeding on the mites.

    I'd suggest bringing a sample of your critters (and probably a leaf they were chewing on) into your local garden centre, and they will be able to better help you identify your problem and recommend an effective control procedure.
