How come if you call a black American's child a Piccanniny they go apeshit but if you call an Australian Aboriginal's child a Piccaninny no-one gives a monkeys?

I'm reading a book about Early Australia.

  1. To be honest it is because it seems that blacks in some parts of the world are arrogant, self-centred yobs where in others, such as Australia, people are less concerned and maybe a little less bigoted on both sides of the skin colour issue.

  2. Some terms are considered offensive in some countries, but not in others. That, however, does not make the country where it is considered offensive uptight.

  3. American racism issues publicised for many years..the plight have been well portrayed by american black peope due to the slave trade!

Australians haven't publicised their own plight as they wernt ripped from their country on boats but ave been kicked off their lands!

Aborigines are a calm race too!

  4. No diff, a child is a child.

  5. Because the Aussies are more laid back
