Please fellow posters--learn what this term means! Special Ed (in the English context--which is important to understand as this is the English forum) refers to the education, support, employment and issues that are unique to children and adults with physical, emotional, developmental, or medical disabilities. If your question doesn't pertain to these, you are in the wrong section and might not be able to get the answers you need.

Postings requesting info on the many MBA's, Indian education programs, and foreign study are best suited for the HIGHER EDUCATION forum.

  1. It is about time someone clarified just what Special Ed. means. Thanks.

  2. I understand what  you mean.  I think possibly the meaning of "special education" when translated to another language means something different than it does to us, which is part of the reason for the many postings that do not deal with our definition of special education.

  3. specialized education

  4. Well said.

    Pass the Strattera, please.

  5. You are right about the point of what special education means. My daughter was in special ed in school and now is going to college. I never made her feel like to couldn't do anything, she actually pushed herself to work harder and reached so many goals in school. She ended up working in a elementary school helping others with disabilities like herself.

    She is quite amazing!

Thanks for posting and letting others know about this.
