  2. This is not a question we normally would answer. However, a member of our staff once worked for the Royal Dutch/Shell Group, which has fleets of these supertankers. VLCC is an acronymn for Very Large Crude Carrier. There is another even larger oil tanker called the ULCC or Ultra Large Crude Carrier. The biggest of these oil carriers can be moored in deep water and are often loaded from  offshore oil platforms. For off-loading, the oil is pumped into smaller tankers. ULCCs can transport 2 million barrels of unrefined oil.
