  1. Martinique is an ISLAND in the CARIBBEAN and they speak FRENCH


  2. I live in the Boston area and to my surprise, yes, quite a few people here had heard of it and been there. But it's because the  Carribean islands are off the east coast of the US and they often go to Carribean destinations to get away from the long and cold winters here.

    I doubt so many people have heard of it on the west coast as they would go to Hawai instead. As for other US regions, I don't think a lot of people will have heard of it. Strangely enough I have never heard anyone speak of Guadeloupe here.

  4. It's an island in the East Carribean, a former French colony and it's beautiful. It is also part of the French Republic and the official language is French and the official currency is the Euro.
