Last year I was working in the Great Victoria Desert at the Mantamaru (Jameson) Aboriginal Community. The team there the Mantamaru Magpies wore black & white - they play in an ad-hoc hit-and-miss competition against other communities in the area. The welfare officer at the community contacted Collingwood for a set of club football jumpers. Collingwood supplied a set - which had been worn in a Friday night game by the league side. A complete set, only worn once. The only condition asked by the club was that some photographs of the Mantamaru team wearing these jumpers be taken & sent to the club.I don't know how many of these jumpers are still available as some of the players were still wearing them days later.Ha ha...to you paranoid Magpie supporters who thought I was going to rubbish the club!!!Anyway, it's a true story.
