If you get an itchy palm, find a piece of wood and as you scratch it say, "Scratch it on wood, it'll come good".

  1. Its a cliche for maturbation

  2. Ive heard and old wise tale like this but Ive never heard it told this way I thought when your palm itched it meant u would receive money. I think it has to be a certain palm because one means money is coming your way and the other means your going to owe money.I'm not positive tho

  3. An old wives' tale that if you scratch an itchy palm on wood, you'll come into some money.  If it's the right palm you'll receive money, if it's the left, you lose money.  Just scratch when it's the right palm.  "Scratch it on wood to make it come good"

  4. goes back to farmer superstitions.

Also goes with Right hand itching you will be receiving money, Left hand itching, you will be losing money (get it right receiving, left losing)

Maybe you mom was raised in Tennessee when my mom was raised in Florida.
