I have had insomnia for quite some time now . So i finally get to sleep Saturday night and wasn't asleep but for maybe 2 or 3 hours. I woke up and turned on my tv. Well for some odd reason I fell asleep within maybe a minute of turning on my tv. Therefore leaving it on. It had maybe been 45 minutes to an hour that I was asleep when my bedroom door opened. My door sticks to the trim so i know when it is opened immediately. So i wake up and realize there is a black figure looking at me from my doorway. I figured it was probably just my mom so I blew it off. Well it stared at me for maybe a total of 30 seconds and left. I then remembered my tv and turned it off. Then instantly fell asleep . I woke again at 7:30 a.m. and realized my door was not closed all the way. well i get out of bed to go see if my mom was up yet and realized she was at her boyfriends house still. I was still groggy from waking to realize that that meant it had not been my mom looking at me in the doorway. i need to know what that black figure could be . i lock my doors and i have an alarm system . My house also has been known for other odd things such as this. please help me.

  1. I'm not sure if my experience is the same, but I can remember when I finished college I had dreams of a presence. I didn't see a figure, but I could see everything in my apt. as it was. I would try to scream and couldn't. Nor could I wake myself.

When I found a job, the dreams stopped. I guess I was anxious about finding a job.

    Your experience was way creeper.

  2. This is a symptom of sleep paralysis. Along with strange noises and sensations, lots of people have reported seeing black figures.

  3. Could be an intruder, maybe your mom came home and then left again, or perhaps it is just a hallucination.
