Do you know whats wrong with my friends tounge ring? (10 points!!!!!!!) help please?

my friend says she has had her tounge ring for about 6 months and four days ago it started hurting. it isn't swollen or anything, but it hurts her when she swallows and shes noticed more increased saliva then normal. do you know what could be wrong?

go back to the place where she got it pierced, which would probably be cheaper than going to the doctor, unless you need to.  They should be able to give advice on how to take care of it and might sell stuff that will help the infection if there is one or can recommend something.  I would take it out until then to prevent it form getting worse.  Agreeing with malinda, i think it probably just got yanked if it doesn't look infected or anything.

She may have yanked it while eating or even in her sleep, it could have cut the tongue.  Or it could have an infection, which isnt good but luckily mouth infections heal fast.  Gargle mouth wash everytime she eats,drinks,after a smoke if she smokes, really jus gargle ALOT.  Within a few days she should be ok.   Try not to talk so much, just for a few days as that can irritate it more, and dont eat foods that needs a bunch of chewing.  And gargle salt water as well.    If it doesnt get better within a couple of days, she needs to call or go to a doc.  It wouldnt really hurt to call one tomorrow.

she could have an infection because , it hurts to swallow , but I'm no doctor , so maybe that's who she should go see .

Tell your "friend" to call a tattoo place or a doctor and ask them about it.  They might be able to give your friend a more detailed answer.
