I have been researching this and have found lots of useful information on the dyslexia and dyspraxia foundation websites. I'm fairly certain I do suffer from symptoms but have yet to find somewhere I can be tested;other than very expensive online sites. I appreciate under general circumstances it is widely believed that being diagnosed offers little advantage, but I am a psychology student failing my research methods (statistics) module and if I could 'prove' there is a valid reason for this, I will be entitled to additional help with my assignments.

  1. an educational pyschologist

contact your college office for special needs students ask if they provide testing

  2. Check with your school, they may do testing right their in your department. If they do not talk to your adviser or look for a private neurophysiology's that does educational testing.

  3. Check with your local school board (maybe where you went to high school). I believe they are responsible for providing services through 21 years of age. Since you are out of school already, this might not apply, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Good luck!

  4. Vocational Rehabilitation is another good source to find how to be tested.  Make sure you tell them you are a college student.

  5. you should be tested by a psychiatrist or other mental health professional
