Do you know where I can find good pictures of horses changing colour as they age?

In particular I am interested in Appaloosa's and Roans.

  1. i tried to post the link for one of my horses who is a grullo paint but yahoo doesnt like it,anyway he started as an all black paint with a white blaze in 2002 when he was born and now he is almost all grey with four black socks (but you can see the paint markings on his skin under the grey.

    edit look up andelusians,lusitano or lipizzaner horses most of them are born one color and change when they mature


  2. Well roans don't change color.  THey will from their baby hair to their adult hair, but all horses do that.  Otherwise they are born with the amount of white hair they will always have.  They don't "grey out" like grey horses.  I believe appaloosas are the same way.

    The most drastic examples I know of horses changing colors with age are the Lipizzaners, who are born black but end up so light grey that they look white.
