At the bank, where the individual, who issued the cheque, has his/her account. If it should be a travellers cheque however, just throw it away, cause you have no chance.

That sounds exceptionally dodgey if you ask me!

Why would you not want to show ID to cash a check/cheque if it is a legal transaction.  

If you are talking about a fraudulent check then $100 is not worth it unless the cheque is less than $100 (and even then who needs a police record thanks very much), as the person cashing the cheque will be responsible for the total cost for the bank when the fraudlent check is found (and in today's systems it will be found!)

So either show ID or get the person to go to her home branch of her bank to cash it herself (even then ID may be required)
